About Us

An award-winning and internationally-collected quilter, Betty Blais has been designing quilts, teaching, and writing about quilt and craft making for fifteen years.

In 2002, Betty and her husband Greg started Embellishment Village in response to repeated student requests for sources of small quantities of embellishment materials. Betty's research revealed no such source, so Embellishment Village was born to fill the void.

By exploring our site, you'll quickly learn that we not only carry beads, charms, yarns and sequins, but we also specialize in supplying patterns coupled with prepackaged embellishment kits. These contain all of the embellishments needed to complete the project defined by the pattern. The latest embellishment product to make a splash in the marketplace is Angelina "Hot Fix" fibers. Although new, even these are included in some of the company's embellishment kits.

Click here to see Betty Blais' new vodcast on Angelina Basics.  We've just uploaded 2 versions, one for QuickTime players and one for Windows Media Viewers.  Betty covers all the basic techniques for working with Angelina, including bonding, blending, layering and much more!  Check in often for more vodcasts too!

Betty has also written the booklet "Amazing Angelina" to help you get started with this fun fiber, "More Amazing Angelina" to take you the next step, and "If it's not embellished, It's not finished!" to introduce you to the basic beading and couching stitches. We invite you to explore our innovative products.

Also, check out Betty's blog.  She talks about their on-the-road adventures as they travel to Quilt Market, Quilt Festival and AQS shows.
